Brides who are tying the knot next year will be starting to think about getting all their accessories sorted, including their veils.

There are lots of types of veils to choose from in Manchester bridal shops, such as waterfall, two-tier, cathedral length and fingertip veils, among many others. 

However, brides who want something a bit different will be pleased to know that 2026 is the year for truly unique and eye-catching veils. 

Veils might be a traditional bridal accessory, but next year will see ladies walking down the aisle wearing less-than-traditional headpieces. 

Firstly, you could opt for something a little different in the form of a mantilla or Juliet cap veil. A mantilla veil works great if you want to create that romantic bridal look, with the lace-trimmed veil stemming from Spain and worn on the crown of the head, flowing over the shoulders. 

A Juliet cap, on the other hand, hails back to the 16th Century but became popular again in the 1920s and ‘30s. Its distinctive look features a ‘cap’ of material on the top or back of the head, followed by a long-length veil that flows to the floor. 

Therefore, it would suit a vintage-themed wedding perfectly, with Vogue Australia describing brides who wore a Juliet cap in the early 20th Century as women who were in “pursuit of a deeply regal, romantic ideal”. 

For a really unique veil, you could choose one that is embellished with pretty embroidery, from colourful flowers to dramatic scenes. The jolt of colour in the veils contrasts beautifully from the white or ivory tone of the wedding dress, and adds a lot of character to the bride’s overall look. 

Customised veils will also be popular in 2026, whether brides are choosing to accessorise with jewelled tiaras or handmade headpieces.  

Some might also add personalisation to their veils with embroidered messages to their partner or important dates. They might choose their favourite colour as a trim or embellish them with their birthstone. 

The veil has certainly become a way for brides to express their personality on their wedding day, so they can look back at their photos and remember not just how they felt on the day but who they were when they got married.
